Manchester City: Ederson; Kompany, Stones, Otamendi; Walker, Fernandinho, Sane, De Bruyne; Silva, Aguero, Jesus.
There have been 97 League games between these two outfits, with Man City scoring 47 wins to the Hammers 35, while 15 games have been drawn. Man City won the clash earlier this season 2-1.
The Hammers opened the season poorly, dropping games to Manchester United 4-0 in Round 1, Southampton 3-2 in Round 2 and newly promoted Newcastle 3-0 in Round 3. In Round 4 the Hammers beat newly promoted Huddersfield 2-0 before playing out a scoreless draw with West Brom in Round 5. After losing to Spurs 3-2, West Ham beat Swansea 1-0 and had a 1 all draw with Burnley, before copping a 3-0 hiding from Brighton. They were then held to a 2 all draw with last placed Crystal Palace before getting belted 4-1 against Liverpool and then 2-0 against Watford. West Ham had a 1 all draw with Leicester and then lost to Everton 4-0 and Manchester City 2-1. The Hammers pulled off a brilliant 1-0 victory over defending champions Chelsea and then held Arsenal to a scoreless draw before beating Stoke 3-0. But their hot form went ice cold, which saw them lose to the out of form Newcastle 3-2, drew with Bournemouth 3 all before beating West Brom 2-1. A draw with Spurs was followed by a strong 4-1 win over Huddersfield before back to back draws against Bournemouth and Palace. They then followed up their 3-1 loss to Brighton with a 2-0 win over Watford. They then lost back-to-back matches 4-1 to Liverpool and Swansea and then went down 3-0 to Burnley. They hit back with a 3-0 win over Southampton before holding Chelsea to a 1 all draw. After another 1 all draw, this time with Stoke, Hammers lost 4-1 to Arsenal.
Manchester City have started this season in blistering form, sitting atop the table after 10 rounds, yet to lose a game. They won their opening League game against newly promoted side Brighton & Hove Albion 2-0. In the second round of the Premier League, Man City were surprisingly held to a 1 all draw with Everton. They survived a shock equaliser against Bournemouth to hit back with a goal and win 2-1 in Round 3. They’ve won every game since, starting with a 5-0 hiding of Liverpool, a 6-0 flogging of Watford and 5-0 thrashing of lowly Crystal Palace. They then beat defending champions Chelsea 1-0, belted Stoke 7-2 and then Burnley 3-0. They snuck home 3-2 against West Brom and then beat Arsenal 3-1 and Leicester City 2-0. They struggled against Huddersfield, Southampton and Hammers in the next three games, but won all of them by the same 2-1 scoreline. City then beat rivals Man United 2-1 before last weeks 4-0 hiding of Swansea. They then were in blistering form as they put away Spurs 4-1 and Bournemouth 4-0 before a dip produced a 1-0 win over the out of form Newcastle and then a scoreless draw with the lowly Palace. They hit back with comfortable wins over Watford 3-1 and Burnley 4-1. The Citizens suffered their first loss of the season when they fell to Liverpool 4-3, before hitting back with three straight wins against Newcastle 3-1, Cardiff 2-0 and West Brom 3-0. After they drew with Burnley 1 all, Man City beat Leicester 5-1 and then Arsenal 3-0 before toppling Chelsea 1-0. City then beat 2-0 and Everton 3-1 before losing to cross city rivals Man United 3-2. They then lost 2-1 to Liverpool before beating Spurs 3-1 and Swansea 5-0 last week.
Everywhere – West Ham is outclassed all across the park here. They have a huge task before them if they are to win this.
Man City should walk this one in.
