Golden State will be looking to wrap up their second NBA title in successive years on Tuesday in the fifth game of the NBA Finals in front of their home fans.

Likely Teams

Golden State: Andrew Bogut; Harrison Barnes, Andre Iguodala; Klay Thompson, Stephen Curry.
Cleveland: Kevin Love; Tristan Thompson, LeBron James; JR Smith, Kyrie Irving.

There have been 107 regular season games between these sides, with the Warriors leading 56 wins to 51. There have now been 10 playoffs games with Golden State holding a commanding lead, 7 games to 3. The Warriors beat the Cavs 108-97 in the last match.

The Warriors have been in devastating form for the entire season, which they have carried into the finals. Despite a hiccup in Game 3 when they suffered their second worst defeat of the year, losing by 30 to the Cavs, they bounced back three days later to record a 15 point win and take a 3-1 series lead over Cleveland.
Cleveland have been strong throughout the playoffs but have again baulked in the finals against Golden State, copping some heavy losses. In Game 1 they lost by 15 and in Game 2 they were smashed by 33 points. They bounced back with a huge 30 point victory in game 3 but failed to capitalise on the momentum of that win, when they lost Game 4 by 11 points. They now have to win three straight games against a side that hasn’t lost three straight games all year.

Key Match-Up

Barnes v James – With Draymond Green suspended for Game 5, James will have a big chance to put on a clinic against Barnes. And he will need to if Cleveland are to be any chance of extending this series past Tuesday.

The Warriors now have one hand on the premiership trophy and a win here will hand the title to them in just 5 games. Their Game 3 misery appears to have been a one-off as they bounced back magnificently to win the following game. Cleveland haven’t looked like they are capable of beating the Warriors in 3 of the 4 games so far.
